"Medieval church - In the same place where the present church is located there was a medieval wooden church . According to a visitation protocol from 1717, it was a long-standing church , externally lined with shavings and tarred stairs. On each side of the long house there were four rounded windows that sat relatively high up. The tower was loud and pointed and had a church bell . In 1764 the church was expanded with crossarms. In the early 1800's , the church was in such a bad state that it was possible to tear it down and build a new one."
